Annette Krebs has been connected with music since her childhood. She was taught in music among others by Manfred Ridil in Saarland, studied music at the “Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst” in Frankfurt/Main and finished her studies 1992 with the diploma. At the same time, she worked in painting. Since 1993 she has lived in Berlin and developed both alone and in collaboration with other musicians her own musical vocabulary. She works within the field of electroacoustic music, combining tones, noises, field-recordings and recordings of words. Like in an acoustic collage, fragments of language are integrated as musical materials with tonal and rhythmic abstract instrumental sounds, noises and silence. Since 2009, she has developed solo pieces for more than two loudspeakers, which are played live and independently from each other. The concert space itself is integrated as an important musical parameter. She works in several groups at the interface between improvisation and composition, collaborates with performers and visual artists and develops compositions for performers and loudspeakers.
